2001 - Sound of Mitte

Welcome to the "Sound of Mitte" room.

A large model occupies the center of the room. It shows the three districts of Mitte (blue), Tiergarten (green) and Wedding (yellow) as they existed individually until the district merger in 2001.

Some landscape features such as rivers, canals and harbor facilities are indicated in the model itself, whereas other features, such as streets, squares and city locations, are shown by the means of an overlay projection.

On three of the walls of this room, monitors show a video of someone riding their bike using a helmet camera. The wandering light spots give a reference to where they are in the model.
